Dr. Steve Amaro has been a partner at Evergreen Veterinary Clinic since 1984. He was born and raised in New Orleans Louisiana and received his Veterinary degree from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation he participated in an internship and residency in Neurology at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. He has known he wanted to be a veterinarian since he was little and truly feels that it is the best profession anyone could do. If he wasn't a veterinarian he would be a teacher for children with special needs. Dr. Amaro is married with 2 children, one is currently attending the University of the Pacific and the other works as a receptionist at Evergreen. When not busy at Evergreen Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Amaro enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, cooking, playing golf and riding his Harley with his wife. He currently has 2 adopted dogs and 3 adopted cats from NARF.
Dr. Barbara Lee has worked at Evergreen Veterinary Clinic since 1984 and is one of the partners in the clinic. She was born and raised in the Berkeley area and received her bachelor's and master's degrees from UC Berkeley. Upon graduating from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1984, Dr. Lee's first job took her to Evergreen where she has enjoyed veterinary practice since. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Nike Animal Rescue Foundation. Dr. Lee is married and has a daughter, along with a dog (adopted from Westie Rescue) and 3 cats.
Dr. David Louie was born and raised in foggy San Francisco. After graduating from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987, he moved south to warmer San Jose and practiced in several veterinary hospitals in the eastern San Jose area. Dr. Louie joined Evergreen Veterinary Clinic in February 2001. His special interests are internal medicine and surgery. When he is not at the hospital, you may find him running or skating the streets of San Jose, volunteering at his daughter's elementary school or even if you are lucky, dancing in a parade in Disneyland! He currently resides in the South Bay Area with his two daughters.
Dr. Amie Rodda (formerly Dr. Amie Lee) joined Evergreen Veterinary Clinic in November 1999. She was born and raised in San Jose and first met Dr. Barbara Lee and Dr. Steve Amaro after a career day talk at Pioneer High School when she was a sophomore. Having volunteered and worked at Evergreen as a high school student, taking a position here as a veterinarian years later was like coming home. Dr. Rodda completed both her undergraduate studies and veterinary school at the University of California, Davis. She has known that she wanted to be a veterinarian ever since sophomore year of high school when she operated a stall cleaning business and observed the veterinarians there. If she wasn't a veterinarian she would be a teacher and help improve the lives of children. Outside of veterinary medicine and surgery, Dr. Rodda's main interests are salsa and ballroom dancing, reading, sewing, and most importantly spending her free time with her husband, their two kids, and their pets.
Dr. Malena Arvizu grew-up in the out skirts of Gilroy. After high school she moved to the coast while she attended the University of California, Santa Cruz and received her bachelor's degree in biology. While she lived in Santa Cruz, she worked as a veterinary technician for several years. Dr. Arvizu then attended Oregon State University School of Veterinary Medicine in Corvallis and graduated from veterinary school in 2005. After spending one too many rainy and gray winters in the Pacific Northwest, she decided to come back to the South bay and has been here since graduation. In her spare time you may find Dr. Arvizu in the dance studio attending a ballet, jazz, or salsa class. She also enjoys traveling with her husband, whom she married in April 2006.

Dr. Susan Matre was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. After a brief stint in Colorado, she came to California in 1984 and has worked here ever since. She is married with two children, both currently in junior high school. Dr. Matre spends most of her spare time riding her horse. In addition to 3 horses, the family menagerie currently includes 2 dogs, 3 cats, 2 lizards, 3 hermet crabs, and a variety of fish.
