More than Medicine: Giving Back to Our Community
Due to our longstanding presence in the community since 1982, we feel a strong sense of commitment to community support. We're actively involved in several local community projects and continue to work extensively with local rescues and humane organizations. We believe a thriving community is a better community for both pets and their people. Read on to see our community activity and how you can get involved.
Our Work with Pets
To help the local pet community, we partner with a variety of rescue and service organizations to provide affordable medical care to pets who need it most.
Since 1985, we have worked closely with this local, all-volunteer rescue organization. We provide complimentary exams and discounted medical services to all of their foster dogs and cats. Additionally, our very own Dr. Lee serves on the board of directors. Interested in learning more about fostering, adopting or volunteering? Visit their website!
We work with other area rescues as well and help them treat their rescued animals with the utmost care and compassion. The following rescues also receive complimentary exams as well as discounted services:
Adoptees and Pet Volunteers
Our work doesn’t stop once a pet is rescued! We love to see homeless pets find a home, so if you’ve adopted a pet from any shelter, your pet’s first exam is free. We also offer free first exams to pets who volunteer with their people at:
Our efforts to keep all these pets healthy not only benefits them, but the people they encounter. Pets have the ability to bring joy and companionship to so many people’s lives, so we want to make sure they can do so for many healthful years to come.
Our Work with People
Healthy pets need happy, pet-loving people to care for them! Our work also extends to strengthening and educating our human community, too. We sponsor numerous local groups to promote community development that in turn helps pets find homes.
We partner with the local zoo to raise money for animal global conservation by hosting fundraising vaccine clinics. These not only provide needed vaccines but help us spread the word about animal conservation, too!
To promote interest in the veterinary field and inspire youngsters, we participate in career days at schools all over the area, from kindergarten to high school levels. Our goal is to empower these young people to follow their passion for animals and pursue a career in the veterinary field.
Local Sporting Groups
We sponsor local sport teams and events, too, such as the Evergreen Little League as well as The Village’s Men and Women Golf tournaments. An active community is a healthy community, which makes happy homes for pets!
We make monthly donations in honor of clients’ pets who have passed every month to the fund which helps to support new research by the college into different facets of veterinary medicine.
