At Evergreen, your pet will receive the highest level of care, for a wide range of surgeries. Our skilled veterinary surgeons perform just about any soft tissue surgery out there. - Mass removals
- Bladder surgery
- Pyometra surgery (removal of the infected uterus and ovaries)
- Ear hematomas (pool of blood that collects in your pet’s ear flap)
- Foxtails removal (prickly plant that can embed and migrate throughout the ears, nose, and eyes)
Common orthopedic surgeries done by our traveling surgeon include:
- CCL repair (similar to the human’s ACL)
- Fracture repair
- Joint repair
- Patella luxation repair
Making Safety and Comfort a Priority
Your pet’s safety and comfort are primary concerns for our surgical team. Safety is ensured with extensive pre-anesthetic exams and bloodwork, as well as comprehensive monitoring throughout the procedure. We watch your pet’s oxygen levels, blood pressure, body temperature, heart rate, and more. We also set up an IV catheter to provide fluid support to prevent dehydration and stabilize blood pressure. Additionally, your pet is watched over by a veterinary nurse until complete recovery from the anesthesia.
No matter what the surgery, pain is a serious concern. Our pain management goal is to prevent it entirely, so we administer pain medication before, during and after their surgery for maximum comfort. Additionally, we send you home with the appropriate medication as well to keep it at bay. Pets who are not stressed out by pain recover much better and feel more like themselves sooner.
After every pet surgery, we send you home with detailed instructions on how to care for your pet at home, and we also call in the next day to make sure they (and you!) are doing okay. Furthermore, we will want to see them in the following 7 days, to check on the incision and their overall condition.
